For the price - this cannot be beat. I was up and connected in 20 minutes.
The screen is crystal clear and anti glare.
Very little junk preloaded.
The issue I have is the battery.
Not only is the life of the battery fully charged only 2 hours and change.
Not only that but I fully charged the battery last night.
Closed it down.
Took it out the next day and the battery was down to 89%!
That’s outrageous.
I ordered another battery (9 cell instead of 6) to boost my offline usage time to about 5-6 hours between the two batteries. but beware of this short window of opportunity.
I have been contemplating picking up a new Netbook computer to replace my 8 year-old Winbook Notebook ever since my father-in-law and sister-in-law each picked up a MSI Wind U120-001US 10-Inch Netbook and external DVD drive at Micro-Center. Even with the extended warranty, they spent just over $500. The problem I have is that I really could not stand the small keyboard. Plus, I prefer not to have carry a separate drive to watch movies, or install software.
Admittedly, this is not the fastest horse on the track, but compared with my old Notebook, it wins the Triple Crown. Start-up time is excellent. The screen is brilliant. Almost all of my old programs installed nicely - had a one that would not install to Windows Vista, but I still have an old XP Pro machine to run that on, so I am good.
As long as you don’t need to be a gamer, but you’re looking for more than Netbook, this is a great choice, especially for the price. I picked mine up at Best Buy for $299 + $79 for the extended warranty.
